Westgate Hall Wedding Videographer

Annie & Daniel's wedding was definitely a case of "where there's a will there's a way". It took place during the peak of the Covid-19 pandemic in the summer of 2020 and there was a lot of "will it happen or not". In the run up to the big day there were changes almost daily to the plans. I was more than happy to go with the flow and offer Annie & Daniel whatever they needed in order to make their wedding day work and I have massive admiration for the two of them for being able to, not just organise the wedding (well re-organise it really) daily, but also for always doing it with a smile and a sense of humour.

The day itself was fantastic. The whole atmosphere was cheerful and full of happiness. Annie & Daniel both got ready at their house, which meant that I was able to capture both the bridal and groom preparations.

They did a first look at The Peace Fountain in East Park, Southampton as they both had to enter the ceremony at the same time because of the pandemic, meaning that Daniel wouldn't get that 'wow!' feeling of watching Annie walk down the aisle. This worked out really well and they had some time to get photos before the ceremony as well.

Westgate Hall is a beautiful building, with its picturesque vaulted ceilings and exposed beams. It is hidden in a really open courtyard, meaning that it is tucked away amongst the Medieval old town walls and with it's 15th century timber framed building it is truly a unique venue for your ceremony.

I couldn't move during the ceremony. I had to stand in one place and also I wasn't allowed to put a microphone on the groom or officiant, as I normally would do so I had to use a directional microphone instead for the ceremony.

Afterward, everyone went back to Annie & Daniel's house. This was fantastic as Annie is originally from Bulgaria so they had wonderful Bulgarian food and entertained everyone with traditional Bulgarian dancing.
